Batesville/Southside

Batesville and Southside combine to form the economic, cultural, employment, medical, and industrial hub of Independence County and North Central Arkansas. Our unified economic development strategy has expanded regional offerings and provided additional job opportunities through business expansions and relocations. There are two colleges in our communities - University of Arkansas Community College and Lyon College. There are also several private and public schools to choose from (listed below).

Downtown Batesville is home to the oldest existing Main Street in Arkansas.
